Molly Grant Films

A new vision in film

Molly's Story

Born in Nebraska, home of the famous director Alexander Payne. In Nebraska though, there are very few kids who are into filmmaking.  Molly is only 17 years old and is a senior in high school.  Found her passion for filmmaking at age 13/14 when parents bought a video camera.  She began to make short comedies and when shown to relatives at a graduation party, a family member suggested to her to be a film director.  Ever since, she has begun to look more indepth to films and things she has wanted to create.  Began in comedy and has moved to many genres.

When Molly started looking for someone to answer her questions about the film industry a film school student, Chris Espinoza, came to her help and answered many questions and gave a lot of insight to Molly, on how to become a better director and still guides her today.  As Molly searched more and more, she began to meet other teens her age that had the same passion and she has been conversing with them ever since to get support and talk to someone who has the same interest throughout the United States because the lack of people where she lives.

She is now figuring out where she will go to college next fall and is working on many different projects including her own short film she co wrote and co directing this March and April.

Some Q and A

Favortie Movie?  Theres no way I could just give a couple movies right now.  I should come up with my Top 10 favorites or something like that, but for now if you go to my personal myspace, you'll see all of my faves.

Music?  I listen to everything.  I really listen to about everything.  I usually stick to Rock and then rap/hip hop and country.  Right now I am really liking the sound track for The Last Kiss.  Zach Braff knows good music.

Favorite Food?  Corn and Mashpatatoes mixed together, hands down my favorite food.

What were you like as a kid?  Haha if you could only see all my home videos and pictures of me.  I was a weird one and really I still am.  I'm basically the same actually, but a bit smarter and bit more mature.  I was...welll and still am really athletic.  Playing soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball and in middle school I also did track.  I was kept real busy as a kid and I guess thats why I need to stay busy now.

Whats some old jobs you wanted to be when you grow up?  I really loved animals.  My house was filled with them, still are, but not as much.  So at first I wanted to be a Vet, then a pet store owner.  I was 14 my parents bought a video camera and this has been my plan since then.

TV?  I use to watch is a ton, but now not so much.  Comedy Centeral is my favorite channel.  When I was little I'd watch Richie Rich, Johny Quest, Jetsons, Tom and Jerry, Tweety, and Filnstones were my top shows.

Can you draw?  Nope...I cant draw cartoons that come from my head that are pretty sweet.  I can draw a pretty good Sponge Bob, but other than that I cant draw worth...well you know.

Any brothers or sisters?  Acutally yes, 2 older brothers, 2 younger, and one older sister.  Yeah its basically crazy all the time.
